Professor Michelle Manes was recently named a Fellow of the Association for Women in Mathematics along with 17 others including Abel Prize winner Karen Uhlenbeck.

According to the official citation, Manes was so named for

supporting research careers for women in mathematics through leadership in the WIN Network and AWM Advance Committees to enable the formation of research networks for women in many areas of mathematics.

AWM President Ruth Haas wrote:

I am very happy to announce the 2020 list of new AWM fellows. We recognize these individuals for their exceptional dedication to increasing the success and visibility of women in mathematics.
