Math Department Accounts

Graduate students or instructors in the math department may request a department login providing access to departmental computers and services, including a department email address and web page.

Department Computers

The department provides desktop computers upon request to all teaching assistants, instructors, and visiting professors .  Teaching assistants are assigned Linux desktop computers. Instructors and visiting professors can choose Linux, Mac, or Windows desktops (subject to machine availability).

Mathematics Software

Matlab is available from the UH Site Licensing page for all faculty, staff, and students at UH Manoa.  This license is provided  in part by funding from the Mathematics Department. The license includes many Matlab Toolbox add-ons.

UH Math Department faculty members can also request licensing for Mathematica and Maple.

Additionally many open source mathematics programs are supported, including WxMaxima, Octave (Matlab clone), and R (S+ clone).
