Teaching Awards

  • In 2022, I was given the James R. Underkofler Excellence in Teaching Award, which is an award given to 4 instructors across all campuses in the entire University of Wisconsin system..
  • In 2016, I was given the William H. Kiekhofer Teaching Award, which is a campuswide award given to one assistant/associate professor each year.
  • I have been awarded an Honored Instructor Award, which are based on student nominations, 8 different times.

  • Courses Taught

I now organize my courses through online learning platforms instead of webpages. So I am no longer keeping a list of courses taught. But I have taught an array of undergraduate courses over the years (calculus, abstract algebra, number theory) and graduate courses (commutative algebra, algebraic geometry, toric varieties) and I am generally happy to share old notes and resources if someone asks.

    Teaching Leadership

  • In 2018, I helped redesign the Calculus curriculum, placing a greater emphasis on uniformity and on active learning.
  • In Fall 2019, I acted as (interim) Calculus coordinator for Math 222 when the full-time coordinate was on maternity leave.
  • In Spring/Summer 2020, I was a member of several campuswide panels on solving teaching issues related to the COVID crisis.
  • Starting in Fall 2021, I have served as our department's TA Supervisor.
