2011 Achievement Rewards for College Scientists

On April 23rd, graduate student William DeMeo was presented with the Sarah Martin Award in Mathematics by the Honolulu chapter of the ARCS Foundation. DeMeo is is chiseling away at a 50-year-old problem concerning finite algebras through investigation of lattices that will require the help of supercomputing resources on Maui. He previously applied mathematics theory to music.
